Today the CFL All-Star team was announced and I’m going to be honest here, I think it’s a pretty shotty list. Maybe I’m still a little confused as to why Stevie Baggs wasn’t given an All-Star nod in the West considering his stats were as good or better than John Chick’s. In my opinion both Baggs and Chick should’ve been named Western All-Stars at Defensive End. Another perplexing question is why is Corey Banks listed as a Defensive Back? He played that “tweener” Linebacker position this year similiar to what Sean Lucas plays with Saskatchewan. Also, 10 Montreal Allouttes have been named All-Stars while there were only 10 All-Stars named in the entire West Division. Yes, I know the Al’s have had a great season and posted a league best 15-3 record but I don’t think it’s right that Anwar Stewart gets named a CFL All-Star with 38 tackles and 9 sacks while Defensive End Stevie Baggs had 55 tackles and 12 sacks and doesn’t get so much as a mention. Regardless, here is your 2009 CFL All-Star Team:
